Une semaine bien chargée/ A busy week

Bonjour/ Bonsoir à tous, tout d'abbord je tiens à m'excuser pour cette longue absence (près de 10jours). La raison est simple: nous avons été très très occupés! Freddy travaillait nuit et jour 7/7 (et ce n'est pas qu'une expression) sur un article de conférence. Du coup j'étais la seule à pouvoir m'occuper de Lenny, de Disco, du Colonel Moutarde (notre poisson rouge), de la maison, des tâches administratives et bien entendu de mon mari! Oui car j'ai toujours dit que Freddy était mon grand enfant! Cette semaine, par exemple, il est parti au travail sans son ordinateur portable et ses dossiers: je lui ai donc apporté son ordinateur au travail car je me demande bien ce qu'un chercheur en informatique peut bien faire sans son ordinateur!!!

Cette semaine a également été chargée en rdv:

- Freddy s'est enflammé le ligament de la cheville et a du se rendre chez le kiné plusieurs fois, le pauvre va sûrement devoir renoncer au marathon du Connemara, prévu le 1er Avril. 65 Euros la séance de 30min remboursée 25euros par notre assurance dans la limite de 7 séances par an, nous esperons donc que Freddy se remettra très vite!

- Lenny a eu son rdv des 2ans (à 2 bientôt et demi, il était temps) avec une infirmière puericultrice irlandaise, qui a d'ailleurs été très impressionnée par les capacités de compréhension de Lenny en Anglais alors que ses deux parents sont Français. Cela me conforte dans l'idée que nous avons eu raison de l'inscrire à la crèche dès 4mois deux demies journées par semaine.

- J'ai passé l'échographie des 20semaines qui a révélé que le bébé est en pleine forme et que c'est un petit garçon! Ce dernier nous a montré plusieurs fois ses parties intimes lors de l'échographie, donc pas de doute! Nous sommes enchantés de donner un petit frère à Lenny!

Sinon la semaine a été ponctuée de diverses activités pour Lenny:

First and foremost, big apology for this very long absence on my blog. The reason is simple: we have been so busy! Freddy worked night and day 7 days a week on a paper for a conference so I had to look after Lenny, Disco, our goldfish, the house and my husband all by myself! Yes because I always joke about Freddy being my big child, this week for example he forgot his laptop at home so I had to bring it back to him at work as he could not get back home because of several meetings: after all, what can a researcher in computer science do without his computer?! So I had far less time for me and I hardly turned the computer on.

This week we also had to dash to several appointments:

- Freddy got injured while training for the Connemara marathon so he went to the Physiotherapist several times: 65Euros per session, our private insurance refunds 25Euros up to 7 sessions per year so we hope that Freddy will recover very soon!

- Lenny had his 2 years-old check up with a paediatric nurse (he already had his in the UK but Ireland wanted to have a record of him as they do not seem to communicate well with the health visitors in the UK). The nurse was very impressed by Lenny's understanding of everything she asked him in English as both his parents are French. It reassured me that I was right to have taken him to a nursery in the UK since he was 4months-old, just for two halves days per week as I wanted him to be fully bilingual before starting school so that he would not struggle.

- I had the 20weeks scan that shows that the baby is growing really well and that it is a little boy! No doubt about it as the baby opened his legs several times during the scan! We are thrilled to give Lenny a little brother!

As usual Lenny and I entertained each other as much as possible in the house as the weather was rubbish ... again!

Une nouvelle activité que nous ne retenterons pas avant longtemps: des tampons! Je crois que c'est encore plus salissant que la peinture!

A new activity that we will not be doing for a long time: stamps and ink! I think this was even messier than paint!

Lenny a collé des rubans alphabets sur des feuilles, nous allons décoré nous-mêmes une "boîte d'artiste" pour ranger tout le matériel d'activités créatives.

Dimanche dernier, comme Freddy travaillait, Lenny et moi sommes allés au cinema pour voir "Happy Feet 2". C'est un dessin animé sur les pinguins et la fonte de la banquise. Comme Lenny était très sage, sûrement plus que certains enfants pourtant plus grands, je lui ai acheté un smoothie!

Last Sunday, as Freddy was working, Lenny and I went to the cinema to watch "Happy Feet 2". As Lenny was very well behaved compare to other children, I bought him a smoothie!
