Tout A Commencé Par Un Caprice... / It All Started With A Tantrum...

En rentrant de la crèche tout à l'heure, Lenny a piqué un énorme caprice. Lenny ne voulait pas faire une sieste alors qu'il était fatigué et que la sieste de 14h fait partie de notre routine quotidienne. Après lui avoir quitté ses chaussures et le pantalon pour le coucher, Lenny s'est mis à courir dans la maison en chaussettes en criant "non non non" et a glissé sur le parquet en se pinçant les lèvres avec ses dents. Il s'est relevé en pleurant et sa bouche était pleine de sang et sa lèvre a de suite enflé. C'était assez impressionnant et je ne savais pas s'il avait besoin de voir un docteur ou un dentiste en urgence. A cause du sang, je ne pouvais voir si la lèvre ou les gencives étaient coupées ou non. Alors je suis retournée à la crèche pour demander conseil aux auxiliaires puericultrices qui ont leur diplôme de soins aux premiers secours, et surtout beaucoup d'expérience. Elles nous ont faits entrer et ont soigné Lenny avec du cotton et de l'eau et ont vérifié s'il n'était pas ouvert. Cela m'a soulagée. C'est dans de tels moments que nous avons besoin de conseils car étant seule j'ai toujours peur de prendre la mauvaise décision.

Coming back from nursery, Lenny thrown a big tantrum because he did not want to go for a nap. After I took off his shoes, he started running in the house shouting "non non non", then suddenly he slipped on the wooden floor. He staight cryed and there was a lot of blood, 30 seconds after his lips became really swollen. I did not know what to do as I was not sure whether the lips or gum were cut or not. Did he need to see a doctor or dentist in emergency? So I went back to the nursery to seek advice from the carers who are both First Aid Trained and they have a lot of experience too. They offered me to come in and gave me a cotton wool with water and looked at him. They reassured me explaining that lips usually become very bloody very quickly but they could not see any cut so, as long he did not bang his head, he was fine. I was relieved, it really helped me. I am very lucky to have the nursery next door with experienced carers who are always nice with us and very helpful.
